Canon and Technesis Release iBridge for Canon imagePROGRAF

Press release from the issuing company

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. (June 17, 2008) Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of digital imaging technology, and Technesis, Inc., today announced the release of Technesis iBridge for Canon imagePROGRAF Printer software. The new module imports job logs from a Canon imagePROGRAF large format printer into the Technesis Print Control System for job tracking, accounting, reporting and pricing.

With Technesis software, job data, such as media, length, width, area and ink consumption levels, is scheduled to import from the Canon imagePROGRAF controller and automatically delivered to the Technesis database. As a result, every job sent to the Canon imagePROGRAF printer is readily available for reporting and costing. Customers set up prices by sheet size, media, area and ink consumption.

"Tracking and capturing print costs is a growing need from our customers," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "The combination of the iBridge software and the award-winning imagePROGRAF line of printers will help users to significantly enhance their organization's ability to track and report on their large format print projects."

"The integration between Canon imagePROGRAF printers and Technesis iBridge is so seamless that customers are ready to track and bill for printing within minutes of setup. The benefit for Canon imagePROGRAF customers is having the accuracy and accountability of each job sent whether it's a technical drawing on bond paper or a full-size poster on photo glossy media," noted Paul Collart, president of Technesis.
