2007 Berber Award Honors Daneise Archer

Press release from the issuing company

Sewickley, PA., October 9, 2007 -- The Ben Franklin Society, honor society to the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), is proud to announce that the 2007 Naomi Berber Memorial Award recipient is Daneise Archer, 34-year industry veteran and president of Arco Ideas & Design, Inc. in Cartersville, Georgia. Established in 1976, the Berber Award recognizes the contributions of women to the graphic communications industry. To date, it remains the industry's only award that specifically honors women's achievements.
Ms. Archer embarked on her printing industry career in the mid-seventies, leaving the banking profession behind to become a printing sales representative. After struggling with the slow turnaround time involved with out-of-state job production, Ms. Archer began creating her clients' artwork herself with great success. This success, along with the encouragement of her husband Russell, resulted in the formation of her award-winning printing company, Arco Ideas & Design.
In 1987, Arco Ideas & Design became a member of Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia, Inc. (PIAG), and Ms. Archer subsequently joined the PIAG Board of Directors. After six years of service with the Board, she was elected chairman and helped the Association overcome a number of challenges, from membership to technology changes to management relations. Ms. Archer currently participates in PIAG's Educational Foundation and has served on their Management Conference Committee, Membership Committee, Member Services Committee, and Nominating Committee.
PIAG presented Ms. Archer with their Benjamin Franklin Award in 2005; this is the highest honor given by PIAG and indicates exceptional industry and community leadership. She was only the second woman to receive the Benjamin Franklin Award. Tireless involvement and service to her business, the printing industry, and her community have paved the way for her to now be recognized with the Berber Award.
"Daneise Archer is simply the best and is respected by all that cross her path. Mrs. Archer is a first class petite dynamo…she is a successful business owner, wife, mother, industry and civic leader, talented professional performer, and friend," remarked Rachel Ann Shattah, PIAG President/CEO.
The engraved Berber Award plaque will be presented to Ms. Archer at The Ben Franklin Society Black-Tie Induction and Awards Dinner, Friday, November 9, 2007, at The Renaissance Hotel in Chicago, IL.
