ADAST Reports Good Results at Graph Expo 2007

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago; October 9, 2007 - ADAST a.s., one of the world's leading manufacturers of multicolor offset printing presses, and its Factory-Authorized U.S. Dealers today announced good results from Graph Expo 2007, including favorable response to the new AdaRegister Control System and strong interest in their "Outrun the Competition" contest.
Mosca Wins "Outrun the Competition with ADAST" Contest
ADAST today also announced that Tony Mosca, President of Northeast Commercial Printing in Albany, NY was the winner of the "Outrun the Competition with ADAST" contest held before and during Graph Expo by ADAST and its U.S. Factory Dealers. Mr. Mosca, whose name was chosen randomly from all those who registered for the contest, opted to receive a 40cc pocket bike capable of speeds in excess of 40 mph rather than the cash prize of $500.
First U.S. Demo of AdaRegister System
ADAST demonstrated its new automated AdaRegister Control System for the first time in North America at Graph Expo, which took place in Chicago at McCormick Place, September 9-12. The new AdaRegister option uses a specialized high-resolution CCD camera and proprietary software developed by ADAST to quickly align all printing units and achieve faster job setup with near-perfect registration.
Cutting makeready time by up to 20% and significantly reducing paper waste enables ADAST users to produce print jobs faster and more profitably, particularly on short-run multicolor printing.
At Graph Expo, ADAST demonstrated the new AdaRegister system on a four-color ADAST 747P perfecting press with in-line coater. The ADAST 747P performed a full make-ready including sub-30-second semi-automatic plate loading, setting of the ink, striking register and matching to CTP CIP3 output via the ADAST AdaControl 3 computerized inking console.
ADAST builds three distinct offset product lines, each of which supports the Automation Affordable feature set plus optional easy-changeover perfecting and in-line aqueous coating:
- ADAST 507 Series: 15 x 20-inch, 2-up format available in two-, four- and five-color configurations;
- ADAST 707 Series: 19-1/2 x 26-inch, 4-up format available in four- and five-color models; and
- ADAST 807 Series: 20.5 x 29-inch, 4-up B2 format available in two-, four, five- and six-color configurations.
ADAST Automation Affordable
The Automation Affordable package includes the AdaControl 3 computerized press control console, semi-automatic plate changers with Bacher registration, automatic blanket washers, automatic ink roller wash-up with auto-spray, and compatibility with industry standard CIP3- PPF and CIP4-JDF files and workflows.
This strong reliance on automation promotes fast make-readies and overall productivity, enabling ADAST customers to compete aggressively in the market for quality offset color, at run lengths starting at 500 impressions.
Special ADAST accessories increase productivity, speed turnaround time and extend the scope of jobs that can be printed on an ADAST press in a single pass. These include the new AdaRegister automated registration system, optional easy-changeover perfecting and in-line aqueous coaters equipped with hot and cold air knives, IR dryer and circulator.
