KBA Celebrates Fall Foliage Season with an Open House at Its Vermont Headquarters

Press release from the issuing company

October 8, 2007 -- KBA North America, a global leading press manufacturer based in Williston, Vt., will be holding an open house during the prime foliage season in northern Vermont for its customers and industry executives. The open house, scheduled for October 12-14, 2007, will present its wide range of award-winning press models and explore the newest innovations in the 41-inch and KBA-owned large-format market and will cover industry segments like commercial, packaging, labels, and other high-growth specialty markets.
“We are eager to welcome all our customers, from small entrepreneurial companies to large organizations, to our open house during one of the most magnificent seasons of the year,” said Holger Garbrecht, president and CEO of KBA North America. “Our newly enlarged Customer Center is the only one of its kind in North America to showcase presses of all format sizes, from our Genius 52 UV 20-inch press to our large-format sheetfed press—the KBA Rapida 142 56-inch, six-color press. This program is designed to allow attendees to examine the speed and power of our large-format press design and see how they can produce new and innovative layouts for gang work, two eight-page signatures with in-line slitting, and a host of benefits for printers looking to gain efficiencies and increase profitability. KBA is the undisputed market leader in large-format presses. We are the only press manufacturer with the experience, the continually innovative large-format perfecting technology, and the customer service to ensure that our customers are well positioned for future growth.”
During the three-day presentation, attendees will be able to witness jobs being prepared and printed on the world’s fastest 41-inch press, the Rapida 105 six-color press with coater and UV capabilities, as well as the Rapida 142 56-inch six-color press with coater, and the firm’s complete line of small-format presses, including the 29-inch Performa 74 and the award-winning 20-inch Genius 52 UV waterless offset press. The presses will be producing jobs on a variety of substrates, including canvas, lenticular, plastic, foil, board, and, for the first time ever, biodegradable plastic. Many exciting techniques will be shown as well, such as UV, special effects coatings, waterless printing, and in-line slitting on the Rapida 142. After the press runs, roundtable discussions and seminars are planned with industry experts, company executives, graphic arts journalists, and peers for discussion of production techniques, growth areas in the industry, and profitability.
On Saturday, renowned Vermont artist Gabriel Boray will be signing reproductions of three of his distinctive paintings, which will be printed on canvas on KBA’s Rapida 105 41-inch six-color press with coater and UV capabilities. The paintings were chosen to be reproduced on the KBA press to show how the press can match the dramatic hues of each work. All attendees will receive a signed reproduction to take with them.
After the daytime presentations, printers will be able to experience Vermont’s beauty with special nightly events, such as boat cruises on scenic Lake Champlain and an authentic New England Lobster fest.
