Carnival Cruise Lines Uses Exstream's Dialogue Software to Implement Electronic Cruise Document System

Press release from the issuing company

September 26, 2007 -- Exstream Software, LLC announced today that Carnival Cruise Lines, the world's largest cruise operator, has successfully implemented its Dialogue enterprise software to deliver an electronic cruise document system that provides added convenience and efficiency for guests.
Using Dialogue, Carnival is streamlining business processes with a new paperless system that provides online access to the same travel information typically available with traditional cruise documents, including boarding passes, luggage tags, and guest documentation booklets. Dialogue's ability to update information the moment changes are made and deliver it in real time is making it possible for Carnival to ensure guest information is always current. Carnival notes the electronic document system has been well received by travelers and travel agents. Within the first week of use, Carnival reduced their printed documents by over 1,000 with many travel agents electing to switch to the electronic document system to enjoy the convenience and cost-efficiency provided by this new service.
"In choosing to move to the electronic document system, we needed a solution that would offer a single platform to give us full control over our documents," said Laura Tamayo, director of air and sea services for Carnival Cruise Lines. "Dialogue's ability to create PDFs in real time eliminates the many steps once required to complete cruise documents, saving us significant time. The response has been phenomenal. Dialogue is delivering the convenience, security, and efficiency needed to make this program a success."
Going forward, Carnival will continue to streamline its document processes by moving the 5,000 to 10,000 documentation booklets it prints each day to Dialogue.
"We are very pleased that Dialogue is helping Carnival Cruise Lines maximize technology to enhance the guest experience," said Jim Norton, vice president of Exstream's travel & hospitality group. "Dialogue's ease of use and ability to create all types of documents make it possible to fully support innovative companies like Carnival in their efforts to deliver top-of-the-line service while optimizing efficiencies."
