Lightbrigade rises to environmental demands with Greengraphix print options

Press release from the issuing company

September 14, 2007 -- To meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly production, Lightbrigade has announced its Greengraphix printing solution which caters for interior and exterior display graphics and signs. Designed to be a pro-active approach to ecological requirements, this new option is aimed at reducing the carbon footprints of the company's customer base by using safer materials, inks and processes.
With national retailers and agencies amongst its comprehensive client list, Lightbrigade is one of the UK's leading suppliers of wide- and superwide-format graphics used for a vast range of displays including billboards, building wraps, banners and signs. Because many of its customers are now striving to find more environmentally aware production methods across the board, as well as reducing waste, the company is now offering its Greengraphix option which incorporates eco-friendly materials and inks which have been manufactured in factories free of VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
Inks used by Lightbrigade to fulfil these obligations use a bio-solvent formulation manufactured from renewable resources. In conjunction with its EFI VUTEk roll-fed wide-format ink-jet printer, these bio-solvent inks are manufactured from food grade ingredients, namely corn.
The only product of its kind to be recognised by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the bio-solvent inks maintain accurate colours and superior durability, strong bonding to uncoated surfaces and good resistance to UV light and mechanical wear. Additionally, the inks are designed to run in high-production environments and provide excellent print quality.
Greengraphix also encompasses safety and environmental aspects with the materials it uses, and production methods complement Lightbrigade's philosophy of reducing waste and eliminating hazards generated during production. Similarly, fabrics are manufactured free from PVC resins, heavy metals, fungicides or phthalates yet incorporate fire proofing requirements.
The introduction of Greengraphix represents another area in which Lightbrigade excels in meeting customer demand. The company utilises the latest production equipment which covers all technologies, including aqueous-based and UV-curable inks, and is now one of the leading suppliers of wide- and superwide-format digital print in the UK. As well as working direct with end clients, Lightbrigade also offers a comprehensive trade service to businesses within the display industry.
