Sweeney Joins IQ Colour

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICH. (APRIL 10, 2007) -- IQ Colour, Inc., a technology leader in advanced color reproduction systems, announced that graphic communications industry veteran John P. Sweeney has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Business Development reporting to President and CEO and Michael Feldman. In his new role at IQ Colour, Sweeney will direct the company's launch of the IQ Colour system. Of the appointment, Feldman said, "John brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience that he will apply in communicating the advantages of IQ Colour to the market, and in helping other industry professionals understand how automated color reproduction in an RGB workflow pays dividends." Sweeney commented, "Throughout my career, I have enjoyed helping bring significant new color technology to the market. Color management, automated closed-loop color controls and monitor proofing on press are all here. A vision-based color separation system is the final link in achieving automated, color managed digital workflows. I am excited to be joining IQ Colour, and to participate in this latest transformation of our industry." Sweeney joins IQ Colour with 20 years of marketing, sales and technical experience in the graphic communications industry, most recently as vice president at Integrated Color Solutions, Inc. (ICS), where he was responsible for sales and marketing. Prior to joining ICS in 2004, he was director, color management systems at Graphic Microsystems, Inc., and vice president of sales and marketing and director, process controls at Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) in Pittsburgh. He also has served as adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Industrial Administration. A vocal proponent of graphics industry standards and color management and control, Sweeney has been associated with many efforts and initiatives related to the subject of color management and control, and has served in an advisory capacity to many graphics industry organizations including Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA), PIA/GATF, IDEAlliance, ANSI Committee for Graphic Arts Technical Standards (CGATS), Specifications for Web Offset Publications (SWOP), the Research & Engineering Council of National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) and CIP4. Sweeney received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business and holds Bachelor of Science degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh. He also served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is a resident of Mt. Lebanon, Penn., a suburb of Pittsburgh.
