September 18, 2007 -- Edelmann Graphics, the German manufacturer of narrow web presses, represented by Matik North America (West Hartford, CT), announced a strong order book following continued sales success in the second quarter of 2007, including a press destined for America.  The current press range consists of the flagship servo driven Color Print V series, which provides web widths from 20 ½” up to 30”, with print repeats from 16” – 48”. Substrate thickness range from 0.7 mill to 26 mill. The Color Print is utilized in a multitude of production capacities which includes labels, film, carton, packaging and commercial. It is the only narrow web press on the market that can print and sheet full size (28” x 40”) sheets.   The other two presses in the range are the EVO Print, 19” web width with print repeat 11” – 25” and the Web Print 39, which offers a web width of 15 ½” with the same repeats as the EVO Print. Both presses have been installed very successfully in label and film applications.  The current order book includes three Color Print V76 machines. The first is a 12 color multi-web press with 45 1/2" repeats and double signature folders for the production of regional newspapers. This will be the second press the customer has ordered in eighteen months. The second press is configured with 8 offset heads and 2 flexo stations to produce high quality unsupported film labels and meet the demands of the local market for offset quality labels. The machine destined for the US will be utilized to produce pharmaceutical inserts and outserts on lightweight paper stock.
The other five presses currently on order are 2 Web Print 39's and 3 EVO Print's. Three of these presses will also be installed for label applications.
