(June 11, 2008) Domino Printing Sciences plc has secured the first European sale of its debut Bitjet+ v4.5, on its stand at drupa 2008. Norwegian mailing house Kvaleberg Industri signed the deal with Mailgraph AS, Domino's Norwegian distributor, during the exhibition, for the purchase of two Domino Bitjet+ v4.5 in line ink jet printers, which have their global launch at drupa. The sale also included two Domino Editor GT Windows XP based controllers.

Kvaleberg Industri chose the Bitjet+ v4.5/Editor GT combination for its print quality, fast ink drying properties, versatility and its unique ability to print a special high quality postal barcode and logo required by the Norwegian post office, and looks forward to benefiting from significant cost savings by bringing the sorting of mail in house. The first ink jet solution will be integrated into one of its existing mailing lines to print addresses onto paper products. The second Bitjet/Editor GT combination will be introduced into a polywrapping line for the printing of personalised addresses directly onto the plastic wraps.

With its first public showing at drupa 2008, the latest generation of Domino's globally successful solvent-based binary ink jet technology sets new industry standards of print quality and uninterrupted personalisation at up to 15m/s. It comprises a host of innovative design and product developments to deliver greater print speeds, significant increases in print quality, resolution and stability, as well as a number of operational benefits. The Bitjet+ v4.5 technology will be driven by Domino's advanced Editor GT Windows XP based controllers, using TCP/IP protocol.
