NELA makes conversion to one-around easy

Press release from the issuing company

Oakdale, MN – December 2, 2008 – NELA offers a simple and convenient tool to facilitate the conversion from two-around to one-around. NELA has installed equipment for the one-around conversion at many European and Asian newspapers and therefore brings a great deal of experience in both the press and pre-press conversion.

The conversion on press is made possible by a NELA designed lock-up and filler bar that will be inserted in the existing cylinder. In order to not disturb the smooth running of the cylinder the weight of the filler bar matches the existing lock assembly at the opposite side.

"We have considerable experience with the one-around application", states Jürgen Gruber, Director of Sales for NELA USA. We assisted about a dozen newspapers in Asia and Europe in their conversion and they are all happy with the results and especially the savings. The necessary bender conversion has also been done by NELA many times. NELA has provided benders in the Far East and Europe where this plate configuration is fairly common.

The benefits include faster speed, more color-capacity and paper savings which result in a justifiable ROI.
