Clemson University offers VDP Seminar and Litho Basics Workshop

Press release from the issuing company

CLEMSON, SC (December 02, 2008) -- Clemson University's Printing and Converting Research Center (PrintCon) and the Department of Graphic Communications will host its highly rated, 2-day seminar, Variable Data Printing: Database, Design & Delivery, December 11-12, 2008. It also announced it will offer a new foundations workshop called Introduction to Offset Lithography, January 6-9, 2009. Both classes have limited space available.

The VDP Workshop, December 11-12, is a hands-on, laptop based program that provides an excellent opportunity to understand how VDP can enhance a company's advertising reach, increase a marketer's return on direct mail dollars or optimize a printer's digital press capabilities with this value added approach to printing.

The workshop is lead by Clemson University's Graphic Communications Professor, Dr. John Leininger, Co-founder of the VDP Hands-on Training Consortium and veteran of over 200 national seminars and conferences will conduct the program. John accepted the 2008 Innovation Award for Continuing Education from the Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) at this year's On Demand Conference in Boston. John was recognized for his highly effective approach to VDP training within the industry.

Attendees will be immersed in all aspects of VDP from database management and postal requirements to current VDP design software and creative techniques to build a powerful and effective personalized marketing piece.

Also available is a new Introduction to Litho Class, January 6-9. This is a 3-day, hands-on, small group class that provides the fundamentals to truly understand the offset lithography process. It's an excellent program for those training new or inexperienced press operators as well as those involved in prepress and design. It's also excellent for sales and front office management and staff to understand and communicate about this printing process as well. The initial class offering was so well received that several companies are already sending additional staff members to upcoming courses.

Details and on-line registration for both classes are available http://www.clemson.edu/printcon or contact Duane Woolbright at [email protected] or 864-656-7664.
