Xerox Gathers Book Publishers and Printers for Thought-Leadership Event

Press release from the issuing company

(December 01, 2008) Fifty book publishers and printers recently gathered in Rochester, N.Y. as part of Xerox's Thought Leadership Workshop series. Attracting attendees from across the country, the two-day event began with a seminar for the publishers at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where guests from companies including McGraw Hill, Pearson, Simon and Shuster, and Scholastic discussed new technologies in book publishing.

The full group of publishers and printers then gathered the following day at Xerox's Gill Hatch Center for Customer Innovation where attendees heard from speakers including Kirby Best, past president of Lighting Source, and Lynn Terhune from John Wiley and Sons, who both delivered case studies on their businesses.

"Attendees also had the opportunity to spend time on the center's production floor where they were able to see first-hand Xerox's breadth of digital print technologies in the book market," said John Conley, vice president of publishing, Xerox Corporation. "By showcasing examples of print solutions immediately after they were discussed, the publishers and printers were more engaged."

Following the case studies, Dave McCauley, president, Author House, discussed the company's suite of services and talked to the impact of publishing in a Web 2.0 world.

This workshop is one of numerous customer educational events put on throughout the year by Xerox. More information on Xerox's digital book printing can be found at: http://www.xerox.com/digital-printing/book-publishers/enus.html.
