InkZone Now Approved for Use with CP2000 Press Consoles

Press release from the issuing company

(November 23, 2008) Digital Information is pleased to announce that the popular InkZone line of pressroom color process control solutions can now be connected to the CP2000 control center. First presented at this year's Drupa, the innovative extension to the already broad press console support now allows users of the CP2000 console full access to the benefits of InkZone.

"With the official approval of Digital Information's technology team, the system can now be used to integrate InkZone's cost-effective, efficient and precise digital ink-key presetting and online color control functions into these popular press workflows," said Michael Haenni, President of Digital Information. "All the while providing the same, familiar and universal interface that drives dozens of other press console models at hundreds of print shops worldwide."

Because InkZone is an open solution for ink preset and automatic color control, the systems work with all models of offset presses from all major manufacturers such as Komori, KBA, Heidelberg, Ryobi, etc. InkZone yields significantly shorter make-ready times and material savings while boosting color accuracy and consistency throughout any length of press run. In addition, color standards and processes can be achieved, documented and maintained with the help of InkZone solutions.

The automatic color-measuring instruments supported by InkZone solutions include densitometers and spectrophotometers from both X-Rite (Intellitrax, ATD, ATS) and Techkon (SpectroDrive, RS400, RS800). And, as a cost-effective alternative, the InkZone Move Press solution has the unique ability to transform the popular and inexpensive EyeOne spectrophotometer from X-Rite into a veritable, UGRA-certified, color workhorse, evaluating full press-sheet width color bars in seconds.

"Haenni continued saying "Connecting InkZone with the CP2000 console, whose popularity in the pressroom exceeds 15,000 estimated installations worldwide, opens up an elegant and cutting-edge upgrade path for these users, bringing both cost savings and digital automation."
