GMG at the TAGA Color Management Days

Tuebingen- 02.14.2008 – GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, today announced that the company had again fared exceedingly well at the TAGA Color Management Days in Italy. The annual test thus once more confirmed the years of outstanding results achieved at proofing contests, such as the IPA Proofing Shootout in the USA or the Digital Proof Forums in Germany and previous TAGA events in Italy.
A total of four hard-proof producers faced up to the colorimetric and visual matching tests. The only system to deliver totally convincing results in the colorimetric and the visual assessment was GMG ColorProof with mx profiles in combination with both the Epson 4880 and the HP Designjet Z 2100. After all, in addition to an overall rating of "buono – good" in the Visual Assessment category, and compliance with all the colorimetric criteria, convincing results were also achieved without restriction in all sub-categories (such as simulation of the dot gain, simulation of the paper white, gray balance, etc.). No other system succeeded in doing this.
Particular mention should be made of the fact that GMG was able to reproduce a larger gamut with the HP 2100 than competitor products using the HP 3100, whose hardware is capable of reproducing a larger gamut. "This clearly shows that the proofing software is decisive when it comes to getting the best out of the given gamut of a printer. GMG has undeniable advantages in this respect. We make optimum use of the printer's gamut and therefore get the best results," says Camillo Di Nardo from GMG's agency in Italy.
The excellent results achieved by GMG underline the outstanding quality of GMG contract proofs. The heart of the GMG technology is the 4D color transformation engine, which permits the highest possible contract proof quality on a variety of output devices.
