xpedx DI Printing Paper Goes Green

Press release from the issuing company

LOVELAND, Ohio, February 4, 2008— xpedx has announced that one of its private label printing papers, Vector Performance DI, has achieved Green Seal certification.  xpedx said the newest certification underscores its efforts to provide printers and other high-volume paper users with high-quality, environmentally preferable papers.

Vector is one of the largest private label printing papers in the U.S. and is used extensively by printers, businesses, governments and other organizations.  xpedx said it expects to add Green Seal certification to other papers in the Vector family of uncoated and coated papers.

xpedx is North America's largest distributor of printing papers and graphics supplies.  It is also one of the largest providers of post-consumer waste content and recycled printing papers.  The company has Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification at all of its U.S. locations.

Green Seal said the high-bright Vector Performance DI paper meets its coated printing paper standard, GS-10 certification. The standard requires the paper meet coating composition and heavy metal restrictions, as well as a minimum of 10 percent post-consumer waste (PCW) fiber.

Vector Performance DI contains 15 percent PCW, is acid free and manufactured with renewable energy. Available exclusively through xpedx, Vector Performance DI coated printing paper is made for high-quality printing on digital color production equipment from manufacturers including Kodak, Xerox, HP, Canon and many others.

The paper features 94 brightness and offers superior toner adhesion and color reproduction.  It is available in gloss and matte finishes and 80- and 100-lb. text and cover weights and is fully guaranteed by xpedx.

The Vector line also includes Vector Multipurpose, Vector Engineering Rolls, Vector Coated DI, computer forms and other papers.
