WAUKEGAN, Ill. (Dec. 7, 2007) - Robert Danielson, president of Amerikal Products Corporation was selected as one of the Readers Favorite by Inc. magazine for Entrepreneur of the Year. Several hundred entries were submitted and Danielson was selected by Inc.com readers' for his innovation and commitment to developing sustainable pressroom solutions.
A 13-minute podcast called "Printing with a Purpose" was also created in honor of Danielson's entry.  During that interview, he discusses the current and future state of the printing industry, sustainability as it relates to the printing and packaging industry and much more.  The interview can be heard by visiting www.inc.com/inctv/2007/11/printing-with-a-purpose.html.
"To be honored and recognized by readers of Inc. magazine is remarkable," said Danielson.  "Developing safe and sustainable products has been our utmost priority for nearly 20 years.  We were "green" long before it was popular to be green.  Today, environmentally responsible business practices are essential and I am very proud to have played a vital role in transitioning the printing and packaging industry to sustainable pressroom solutions."
Worldwide, the printing industry relies heavily on petroleum based products that generate a significant amount of VOC's (Volatile Organic Compound), HAP's (Hazardous Air Pollutants) and waste streams classified as "hazardous."  Amerikal's environmentally responsible line of pressroom chemistry called Genesis, dramatically reduces or eliminates these harmful chemicals while offsetting millions of gallons of petroleum each year.
Currently, more than 900 printers worldwide are utilizing Genesis to print and package items for Fortune 500 companies.  Printing encompasses everything from food pharmaceutical packaging to cosmetics, books, magazines and more.
