Rider Dickerson Expands, Installs Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105

Press release from the issuing company

KENNESAW, Ga. – July 31, 2007 –When Rider Dickerson, Inc. traded its old location in downtown Chicago for a brand-new, 85,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Bellwood, Ill. in March, it also replaced a pair of older presses with a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 6-color press with Image Control color measuring system. As a result, “Over three shifts, we’ve experienced substantially better makereadies and higher run speeds,” says company President and CEO Bill Barta. He adds that Rider Dickerson tries to run the new press at its full speed of 18,000 sph whenever possible, and with as many different sheet stocks as possible - the better to take advantage of the XL 105’s legendary performance and substrate flexibility. “Not only is the XL 105 a more efficient press than older technology, but we consider it the best 40” 6-color press on the market,” Barta says. Rider Dickerson uses the XL 105 to produce four-, five- and six-color high-end sales and marketing collateral for ad agencies, corporations, universities and financial services clients. Established in 1903 and with 53 full-time employees, Rider Dickerson has been a Heidelberg customer for 22 years. The company’s pressroom lineup also includes a 6-color Speedmaster CD 102 with UV, as well as 2- and 4-color Heidelberg GTOs.
