Precision Litho Service Installs New Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, July 19, 2007 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced Precision Litho Service, Inc., a Florida-based commercial printer specializing in large format sheetfed, narrow UV web, and half-size web printing, has recently installed a four-color Lithrone S40 with perfector and coater (LS440P). Precision Litho is a twenty-three-year-old, multi-generational company that serves the pharmaceutical, financial services, and travel industries among others with high-end color applications. The new Komori is providing the company with exceptional print quality, inline aqueous coating for specific applications and a 75 percent reduction in makeready times.
“In choosing the new press, we met with all the major manufacturers and gave each one a complicated print test to evaluate in our decision. Ultimately, the Lithrone S40 produced at a much higher quality than the others. It was that simple. We were duly impressed,” said John Blair, president of Precision Litho. “This press is providing us with an end product that never disappoints. Our press operators are in heaven because of its ease of use and unfailing color consistency. The new press just validated our continued confidence—we are sold on Komori.”
With a 40-inch and 28-inch Komori press already part of the operation, Precision Litho reports it is quickly taking full advantage of the new LS440P’s capabilities. These include the high-performance inking system that reduces job changeover times and paper waste, and its fully automated plate-changing systems that are significantly shortening makeready times. Productivity has also increased with the economics gained from one-pass, two-sided printing.
“We are very proud of our long-term relationship with Precision Litho Services,” said Mark Hopkins, regional manager for Komori’s Central East Region. “The company is known for quality and service and its newest Komori will help it continue to deliver on that reputation.”
