Flint Group announces price increase for photopolymer plates

Press release from the issuing company

March 6 2008 -- The increase will range between 4-6% depending on product group, and will impact all nyloflex and nyloprint printing plates, and nylosolv processing solvents. Printing plates and solvents are highly dependent on oil based raw materials and energy which have increased significantly in price during the last period. As a result of the experienced constant increases in cost of production, prices will be raised globally.

"Over the last years cost of raw materials and energy have continuously increased" stated Dr. Thomas Telser, President of the Flint Group Flexographic Products Division. "During this period we have managed to absorb these increases by improving our manufacturing processes and at the same time reducing scrap and eliminating non-value generating downtimes. However, due to the consistent and unrelenting ongoing cost increases for our materials and services, driven by the current economic realities, we have reached a point where we are no longer able to offset the increased cost and need to adjust our pricing."

Despite the difficult economic conditions, Flint Group Flexographic Products continues to invest in new products and more efficient processing technologies. Consequently the new  nyloflex ITR Product Line and the advanced version of the nyloflex infinity technology will be presented at the upcoming drupa exhibition in June.
