Screen Digital Solutions Portfolio on Display at GOA

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. Feb 22 2008 -- Screen (USA) is featuring a full portfolio of integrated digital solutions at Graphics of the Americas in Miami for printers looking to profit from automated plate production and workflow processes. Screen experts, as well as representatives from Screen's distributors in Mexico, Brazil and the Caribbean, will be on hand in booth #1064 to demonstrate and answer questions about the company's industry-leading prepress systems.

PlateRite Niagara brings the benefits of CTP to everybody
The PlateRite Niagara eight-up (B1) thermal computer-to-plate (CTP) recorder is a versatile and affordable solution for even the smallest printers that want to implement high-quality plate production. Equipped with a patented 84-channel imaging head, the PlateRite Niagara outputs 11 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi. It handles plates from 12 x 14.6 inches (304 mm x 370 mm) to 41.7 x 32.2 inches (1,060 mm x 820 mm). The exposure head supports resolutions of 2,400 dpi, 2,438 dpi and 2,540 dpi.

PlateRite 4300S continues Screen's leadership in the four-up (B2) CTP market
The PlateRite 4300S thermal CTP expands printers' capabilities with its ability to accommodate two-up, four-up and also six-up plate formats. It delivers superior quality on plates from 12 x 14.6 inches (304 mm x 370 mm) to 32.7 x 26 inches (830 mm x 660 mm). Prepress operators can choose from imaging resolutions from 1,200 dpi to 4,000 dpi. At 2,400 dpi, the PlateRite 4300S produces 21 plates per hour. Plate-handling automation enables the platesetter to turn around more work in less time. Options range from a single autoloading cassette that holds 50 plates to a multiple-cassette system that provides 15 hours of unattended operation.

Trueflow SE creates a universal workflow
Trueflow SE represents the newest version of Screen's popular PDF/JDF-based workflow management system. Trueflow SE manages production to multiple CTP and digital printing systems on a single network. This universal workflow generates the necessary data for printing companies operating in a hybrid offset-digital print environment to quickly use CTP recorders, proofing devices and digital presses on demand.

Spekta 2 hybrid screening combines the best of both worlds
Spekta 2 achieves its outstanding results by using an FM dot structure in the highlight and shadow area and a traditional AM pattern through the midtones. Spekta 2 delivers image detail comparable to line screens of 350 lpi or higher without changing from conventional prepress and pressroom conditions for normal 175 lpi printing. It makes dot gain adjustments easier because of Screen's exclusive 12-bit screening technology. It improves overall color control by eliminating banding, moiré and jagged lines, ensuring smooth, detailed printing reproductions.
