OneVision Launches Automated Image Enhancement Software

Press release from the issuing company

Regensburg, Germany and Jersey City, New Jersey – March 3, 2008 – OneVision, a global provider of prepress and premedia software solutions to the printing and publishing industries, announced the upcoming launch of its newest software called Amendo. The solution provides automated, professional-quality image enhancement, including automated color correction.

Amendo will be on display for the first time - along with a variety of other software tools specifically designed to streamline premedia operations - at America East in Hershey, Pa., March 11-12, Booth #17 and NEXPO in Washington, D.C., April 12-15, Booth #1324.

With Amendo, users can significantly reduce image processing time, automatically adjust color, tone and size of images with improved image quality, and reduce time to press by eliminating labor and time-intensive manual image correction. The intuitive, easy-to-use software examines, adjusts and enhances photos automatically and within seconds. Amendo adjusts individual elements of an image as needed - and not simply the entire image - for better results. Brightness and contrasts, shadows and highlights - as well as colors - are enhanced. Sharpness is improved. After an image is optimized, users can easily compare the original and the newly enhanced images to have a full visual record of the enhancement process prior to further processing.

If additional manual intervention is desired, images can be easily exported into third-party applications or enhanced directly using OneVision's interactive software. No matter whether the adjustment involves the color, color saturation, contrast such as shadows and highlights, brightness, sharpening, scaling, manual cropping or rotation, OneVision's image enhancing solution offers an array of interactive options for image optimization.

Amendo works in conjunction with a browser-based front-end that allows comprehensive monitoring, control and process automation. Client server applications allow comprehensive and smooth file routing, the ability to move files from anywhere to anywhere and image history - including thumbnail before-and-after previews.

Like all of OneVision's software, Amendo can easily be incorporated into existing workflows. With its simple user interface and easy installation and set up, no specialized training is required.

Siobhain Towell, Vice President of Marketing at OneVision, Inc., said, "Printers and publishers typically run hundreds or even thousands of photos in just a few editions. Many of the photos will need some form of enhancement - such as contrast adjustments, shadow lightening, skin tone correction and color correction - prior to the print run, when time is scarce and deadlines are tight. As part of the regular production workflow, Amendo automates a key component of print production, meeting a critical need to expedite production."

OneVision's software products are currently used by many of the world's leading printing and publishing companies including Dow Jones & Company, Inc.; Gannett Co., Inc.; Pearson plc; Merrill Corporation; and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company in the U.S; Financial Times; Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung; Sydney Morning Herald; Times of India and many others.
