HP Scitex Technology Unlocks New Opportunities for 360 Digital Media

Press release from the issuing company

PALO ALTO, Calif., November 28, 2007 - HP today announced that Greenville, S.C.-based 360 Digital Media has completed the installation of an HP Scitex TJ8300, increasing its ability to serve as a complete wholesale provider of high-volume, flexible industrial prints and set itself apart from the competition to achieve greater business growth and financial success. Coupled with the HP Scitex XL1500 and its new dye sublimation module upgrade, the HP Scitex TJ8300 allows 360 Digital Media to offer a wide range of applications to their diverse customer base, from indoor and outdoor signage to vehicle graphics and fabric wall murals.
Since establishing 360 Digital Media in 2003, president Derek May has continuously expanded his operation with technology upgrades and the latest digital printing solutions to meet the evolving application needs of his clientele. With growth dependent upon positive word of mouth publicity and the ability to produce solutions beyond other print service providers' capabilities, May relies on the quickness, diversified projects and optimum results afforded by HP digital printing solutions to exceed his customers' expectations.
"We've seen a growing trend in the need for high volume, cost-effective fleet graphics. Our new HP Scitex TJ8300printer has allowed us to enter these new markets and to successfully respond to new customer requests," said May. "We installed the printer one month ago and it's already running 30 percent of our workload and helping us to obtain new accounts. This printer hits the mark on both speed and quality."
Combining superior efficiency, durability and flexibility, the HP Scitex TJ8300 has two preset printing modes, achieving 448 dpi at 2,153 sqft/hr in quality mode and 336 dpi at 4,305 sqft/hr in production mode, providing an ideal solution for wide format printers, like 360 Digital Media, interested in entering new markets.
"Meeting the demand for exceptional quality, large-format signage with a quick turnaround time is imperative in today's market," said Gal Barak, director and general manager, HP Scitex Americas. "By leveraging the wide variety of digital applications the HP Scitex printers provide, 360 Digital Media can meet a diverse set of customer needs and maintain a competitive advantage."
Further extending the company's digital capabilities, the HP Scitex XL1500 with dye sublimation provides a gamut of new print applications. Recently, 360 Digital Media used the dye sublimation feature to print 4,000 linear feet of fabric to cover a large wall in a professional football sports arena for a wholesale customer. The HP printer delivered the speed and performance necessary to complete the job in only two weeks.
"The HP Scitex XL1500 brought us to the next level and proved its value again on this endeavor," said May. "The market is leaning towards dye sublimation banners because the applications are lighter to hang and more visually appealing. We chose HP's product because it was a better choice than the competitive offering on quality, speed and technology."
