Videojet's Newly Enhanced G4100 Printer; Now Faster, More Flexible, Easier to Use

Press release from the issuing company

WOOD DALE, Ill. (USA) - November 12, 2007 - Videojet Technologies Inc. has enhanced its Videojet G4100 digital imaging system to further improve variable data printing capabilities for commercial and direct mail applications that demand high throughput and high-resolution images. An expanded inks offering gives printers even more flexibility to work with challenging coated stocks.
The Videojet G4100's new G402 ink is specially designed for printing on clay-coated surfaces to provide higher-quality addressing and personalization with excellent contrast on a variety of stocks while still achieving 1200 dpi and speeds up to 600 feet per minute (183 meters per minute). "With this ink, commercial and direct mail printers can deliver their customers enhanced addressing and personalization with excellent contrast on a variety of clay-coated stocks," says Jason Lund, Videojet's graphics product manager.
Updated software on the Videojet G4100 adds multiple timesaving features that simplify programming and expand capabilities. "This software makes it easier to insert and handle graphics and anchor points," Lund says. "Plus, the imaging system features a new text editor that broadens font capabilities. With the ability to support Unicode data, the Videojet G4100 can print in any language."
Developed with HP thermal ink jet technology, the Videojet G4100 features a 4.25-inch printband in a single head that allows commercial printers to customize mail pieces with high-resolution addresses, message text and graphics. The self-wiping printheads provide hands-off cleaning, so the system requires less frequent maintenance.
