Morgana Announces New Creaser/Folder For Greeting Cards

Press release from the issuing company

June 15, 2007 -- The new Morgana CardMaster is an integrated creaser and folder designed for fast, quality finishing of greeting cards up to 130lb cover (350gsm)

Designed and manufactured by Morgana, it is set to revolutionise the print On Demand and personalised Greeting Card market. These applications often require hand creasing and folding as set up times on automated scoring and folding machines can take up to an hour for each job change. The CardMaster changes all that as it is uses a ‘head-up’ display and computer technology for 60-second job set – up and the retrieval of stored work. Once the operator has dialled in the sheet length, the CardMaster automatically sets the creasing and folding positions. It utilises a unique rotary matrix creasing device with the company’s patented ‘flying knife’ folding technology, which prevents scratching or other damage on the most delicate stock.

Although primarily designed for the digital market, the CardMaster is equipped with bottom suction feed for continuous loading and has large diameter, grooved rollers to prevent spray powder or toner build-up which makes it also very suitable for longer run litho production runs producing an average of 150 finished cards per minute.

The Morgana CardMaster which will be debuted at Graph Expo in Chicago 9th to 12th September 2007, takes a minimum sheet sizes of 5.5”L x 3.5”W and a maximum sheet size of 18”L x 14.4” W. (110mm x 80mm and 460mm x 365mm.) It has a small footprint with a feed tray that folds away when not in use.
