At Graph Expo, Muller Martini to present live demonstrations of automated press delivery technologies

Press release from the issuing company

June 15, 2007 -- Hauppauge, New York – As visitors to Muller Martini’s Graph Expo booth #3863 will see, today’s advanced and highly automated press delivery technology can make workflow more efficient in a number of ways.  The result can be reduced operational costs, and ultimately, increased profits.

During the Graph Expo show, Muller Martini will be presenting live demonstrations of a press delivery configuration consisting of a Topveyor overhead conveyor, along with the company’s new Preciso rotary trimmer, and a Vivo horizontal log bundler.

“The ability to process printed products between press and finishing in the fastest, most reliable and least labor-intensive way can significantly increase profitability for printers and binderies, especially if they’re using automated press delivery solutions to their fullest advantages,” said Jeff Woloshyn, Product Manager-Press Delivery, Muller Martini Corp.  “By viewing our equipment demonstrations during this year’s Graph Expo show, the marketplace will see why it’s so important that signatures are prepared properly before they get to the finishing stage. They’ll also see how leading-edge press delivery technology from Muller Martini can provide superior operational flow, higher speed and the industry’s best bundle quality...all of which can reduce waste, save paper, boost job turnaround speed, and lower expensive manpower requirements.”

Muller Martini press delivery systems are available with AMRYS (Automatic Make-Ready System) technology that can decrease set-up times by as much as 50%, allowing such job parameters as size, format and strapping specifications to be pre-set automatically so one job can conclude and the next one can begin in literally moments.  Muller Martini is also the only company in the industry to offer MACOS, a proprietary JDF/JMF compatible Master Control System that provides single-station control over the entire press delivery operation.  MACOS electronically integrates equipment throughout the line, sending signals back and forth, continuously matching press speed to press delivery machinery, monitoring the flow of signatures, and performing many other functions to ensure that the least waste possible is generated and overages are kept to a minimum.

The press delivery system that will be displayed by Muller Martini at Graph Expo is very flexible and adaptable, as is the case with all of the company’s press delivery technologies – each of which can be custom configured for almost any production environment.  Among the possibilities are equipment installations that allow for curves, radiuses and a wide range of other logistical arrangements, enabling shops with production floors of all sizes and shapes to benefit from a state-of-the-art press delivery system that is ideally suited for their unique needs.

The Muller Martini Topveyor processes signatures or finished products in a shingle stream from press to finishing without the need for single-copy timing. The new Preciso rotary trimmer finishes products with optimal trim quality at full press speed and is one of the most precise and dependable trimming technologies in the world.  Preciso features Muller’s innovative VibroTec centering infeed technology in which rollers are used instead of paddles to align the stream – producing a floating effect and resulting in more consistent alignment for maximum trim quality.  The Vivo horizontal log bundler has the smallest floor space requirement in its class.  Vivo maintains superior log quality throughout the bundling process by tightly controlling the continuous conditioning of signatures, reducing downtime and waste while speeding throughput.

In addition to the Topveyor overhead conveyor, Preciso trimmer and Vivo bundler, the comprehensive Muller Martini line of automated press delivery technologies also includes: the Floorveyor floor conveyor system; AvantiPlus and Maximo log bundlers; Exacto and Compacto rotary trimmers; the Forte compensating stacker; several high performance palletizers; and PrintRoll systems designed to optimize the efficiency of downstream processing by handling intermediate storage as well as loading in the bindery.

Graph Expo takes place September 9-12, 2007 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

Show attendees are invited to stop by the Muller Martini exhibit (#3863) to see live demonstrations of the company’s advanced press delivery technology.  Muller Martini experts will also be available for individual consultation during Graph Expo, providing operation-specific insights about the many ways that automated, high speed press delivery equipment can raise efficiencies, lower costs and increase profits.
