IBSA awarded RFID contract with Premier

Press release from the issuing company

Dayton, OH – International Business Solutions Alliance is bringing special pricing for its technology advancements to over 2,100 hospitals and 58,000 health care organizations through a recently awarded Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) agreement with Premier Purchasing Partners, the group purchasing unit of Premier Inc. The 36-month agreement for RFID Asset Tracking and Management Solutions represents a new contract category for Premier, one of the country's largest healthcare alliances.

Hospitals are burdened with intense requirements to maintain effective inventories of the high-value surgical supplies and assets that are used to deliver patient care, requiring excessive inventory carrying and management expense.  RFID accurately tracks all items added or removed from inventories, allowing significantly reduced costs and a rapid return-on-investment.  Within healthcare, in addition to tracking high-value assets and surgical supplies, RFID can be used within patient wristbands, pneumatic tubes (carriers) or similar items to enhance compliance and accountability.

Not only can RFID bring huge costs savings and benefits to the healthcare market, RFID can be implemented through all industries, such as Manufacturing, Retail, Hospitality, banking and finance, etc. RFID technology is accomplished by placing labels or tags that include an antenna and computer chip on items that need to be tracked, and the use of RFID 'read zones' and Portable Readers (radio waves) to monitor the movement and location of RFID-tagged items!   RFID readers can 'read' items from up to 40' away and it does not require 'line of sight'.  Some of the popular tracking applications for RFID not only include Surgical Supplies, but also Inventory, Assets, Specimens, People, Records, Artifacts, Books, Evidence, Weapons or just about any kind of item imaginable.

IBSA also has the capacity and capability to be a full service document management company as well.  Using IBSA as a central order point, customers can streamline the purchase and management of printed materials. In fact , IBSA also has a document management/ print contract with Premier, and now the addition of the RFID solution will allow Premier members to capitalize on the numerous manufacturer relationships IBSA has built.  Through their supplier partners, IBSA can provide services as well as products, including forms processing, marketing and creative services, inventory management and order fulfillment.
