Gandinnovations - Stable and Opaque, GUV White Inks

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - January 15, 2008 - Gandinnovations a world leader in grand format digital printer innovation, today has launched a new high density UV curable white ink that allows printing on many colored rigid substrates and achieve a brilliant white in one pass without any shadow effect.
This new white also has much better adhesion to many rigid materials including corrugated plastic, styrene, PVC, acrylic and even other exotic substrates like metals, leather, brown cardboard stock and many more.
Additionally, the GUV (Gandi UV) white ink can be used as a "spot" color to bring into focus certain parts of an image printed on colored substrates and even on transparent media.
Gandinnovations has also made this new white with using a very flexible formula so it will not crack even when the rigid substrate is bent 360 degrees. This gives the flexibility to use it in many applications.
We have also used excellent white pigments to give good outdoor life without discoloring and cracking.
And just like all our UV-curable inks, the GUV White ink is a 100% solvent-free formulation using only the safest radiation curable raw materials that does not result in the emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) making it  both safe to use and environmentally friendly thereby reducing worker exposure to hazardous substances and environmental pollution.
This specially formulated white ink developed at Gandinnovations features a unique chemistry that imparts excellent adhesion, flexibility and outdoor durability. The proprietary manufacturing process and additives used to produce this UV white ink makes it possible to disperse more pigment into the formula while still keeping a stable sub-micron white ink suspension. This means that it is now possible to achieve greater opacity with less amounts of ink laid down with one print pass, where competitive UV curable white inks usually require more ink laid down and more than one print pass.
Gandi's innovative and world-renowned UV product portfolio, comprising the Jeti1224 true flatbed has a 4ft x 8ft print area, Jeti 2030 X-2 true flatbed has a 6ft 6" x 10ft (2 x 3 meter) print area, and Jeti3150 X-2 true flatbed has a 5ft x 10ft print area. All our UV True Flatbed Printers provide an economic advantage to the customer and create a complete printing solution that ensures full system compatibility.
