Prism and LithoTechnics Sign Distribution Agreement

Press release from the issuing company

Sydney, Australia, January 22, 2008 – LithoTechnics Pty Limited, developer of Metrix, award-winning workflow integration & automation software, announced today the signing of a distribution agreement with Prism Group Holdings Limited, a leading provider of management information systems and productivity tools to the printing and graphic arts industries.
Under the agreement, Prism Group Holdings will sell and support the entire Metrix product line worldwide, on Mac OS X and Windows platforms, to complement its sophisticated and popular MIS offerings to the graphic communications industry.
Kathy Mitchell, Australasian General Manager for Prism comments, "We have been working with Rohan Holt for a good number of years now and have always been impressed with the sophistication of his products and passion for the industry. We are thrilled to be working formally together to deliver to the market efficient and vital tools that ultimately will deliver greater efficiencies to the shop floor." Mitchell continued, "This agreement will allow Prism to deliver an expanded integrated solution to our mutual clients that builds upon the standard JDF integration. The printing industry is asking for these simple sophisticated tools that deliver a new level of automation. It is clear that the printing industry is changing and we here at Prism are dedicated to providing solutions that will allow our clients to move with these changes. The agreement between LithoTechnics and Prism will allow us to continue to be at the leading edge of production automation."
Rohan Holt, President of LithoTechnics offered his thoughts: "I've been dealing with Prism for over a decade, and watched them expand from their roots in New Zealand, through Australia, and then into the UK, South Africa, and the USA. I am very excited that the time is finally right for us to do something concrete together. Metrix has been able to receive JDF data from Prism WIN for a few years now, reducing data duplication errors and automatically upgrading data to production-quality instructions for prepress and finishing. But the future of the printing industry requires a whole new level of integration between MIS and production, and I'm very excited that with this new agreement Prism and LithoTechnics will continue to push this envelope even further."
The Metrix 3.0 family includes Metrix Commercial, Metrix Max, Metrix X-8 and Metrix X-80, targeted at different segments of the commercial print market. All editions are available on Mac OS X and Windows, and all automatically plan and impose flat, folded, and bound work as well as ganged work. The top end Metrix Max takes ganging automation to a higher level by finding the most cost effective way to print hundreds of jobs across multiple presses. All editions can import JDF and export imposed PDF. Select editions can also export various forms of JDF for prepress and finishing. The entire Metrix family is available in English, German, and Spanish.
