Kevin Richard named to Mohawk Board

January 2008 - [Cohoes, NY] - Kevin P. Richard, Chief Operating Officer for Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. has been appointed to Mohawk's Board of Directors.  The appointment is effective December 12, 2007.
Richard, who first joined Mohawk in 1995 as Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, is a 26-year veteran of the paper industry.  He has spearheaded the drive toward operational excellence, for which Mohawk is widely known.  "Kevin's keen intellect and his ability to drive results through focus and teamwork have led to the development of the best R&D, engineering, manufacturing, converting, and distribution teams in our industry," said Thomas D. O'Connor, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mohawk Fine Papers.  "Kevin is a brilliant strategist and a thinker.  His operations experience will further strengthen the expertise of the Board."

Prior to joining Mohawk, Richard held positions with International Paper for over 13 years.  He has a BS degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts.  He attended executive management programs at Columbia Business School, Duke's Fuqua School of Business, and Harvard Business School.
