Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Mar. 23 -- Kodak showcases applications and technology specifically for printers and mailers wanting to grow their business by offering higher quality print, faster turnaround times and more flexibility at the National Postal Forum, March 25-28 in Washington, D.C. In booth #769 Kodak will showcase three high speed digital print solutions, the KODAK VERSAMARK DS5222 Inkjet Printing System, the KODAK VERSAMARK DS5340 Inkjet Printing System and the KODAK VERSAMARK DS4350 UV Printing System. Kodak customers use the VERSAMARK DS5222 system and the VERSAMARK DS5340 system to produce variable data postcards with addressing on the front and personalization on the back utilizing four state barcode and read and print applications. Kodak will highlight the UV print capabilities and substrate flexibility of the VERSAMARK DS4350 system by producing a loyalty card mailing on embedded plastic cards. “More than ever, mail pieces need to be addressed, coded, sorted and sized to take advantage of the new automation discounts and avoid significant penalties,” said Ronen Cohen, Vice President, Inkjet Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “KODAK VERSAMARK D-Series Printing Systems help our customers maximize their postal needs, comply with new legislation and produce high quality work that exceeds expectations.” The VERSAMARK DS5340 and DS5222 printing systems meet a wide range of variable data imaging application needs, including business forms, tag and label, direct mail, booklets and billing statements. Ideal for direct mail, barcoding, numbering, personalization and spot color, the VERSAMARK DS5340 and DS5222 printing systems are modular, making it easy to merge with web presses, mailbases, collators, inserters, folders and a variety of other inline and offline equipment. The VERSAMARK DS5340 and VERSAMARK DS5222 inkjet printing systems feature improved speed and enhanced connectivity. Both systems can be configured with a Usage Tracking System (UTS), which offers a reduced capital investment and a usage charge based on the amount of ink consumed. The KODAK VERSAMARK DS4350 Printing System uses UV curable inks that print on a wide variety of substrates including coated stocks, plastics and films. The DS4350 Printing System provides a wide 2.58 inches (6.55 cm) of print coverage in a single printhead, print speeds of up to 330 fpm (99 m) and character definition with print resolutions of up to 300 x 600 dpi. The VERSAMARK DS4350 printing system is available as a fully integrated system bundled with a printer, controller, transport and UV curing station and also as a turnkey system including feeder, feeder base and output conveyor. Beyond Kodak’s booth, Jeff Hayzlett, Chief Marketing Officer, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, will discuss new techniques that further strengthen the value of print as a highly effective communications medium as a co-presenter in a panel discussion entitled “All About Speed to Market” from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27. Marc Johnson, Regional Marketing Manager, Inkjet Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, will co-present a session discussing variable data printing technologies and results using real world jobs and industry studies.
