Davis Direct Selects Speedmaster SM 102

Press release from the issuing company

KENNESAW, GA – August 23, 2007 –Though already familiar with the 40-inch market, the press operators at Davis Direct in Montgomery, Ala. are now becoming experts in the multicolor print market. The company installed a new 5-color Speedmaster SM 102 with coater from Heidelberg in April, and is already experiencing enhanced results since trading in a two-color press.
According to Owner Emile Vaughn, "We needed to add capacity to our pressroom, so we chose the Speedmaster SM 102, which is definitely having an impact on our bindery." Davis Direct runs an all-Heidelberg bindery, plus Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 74 and Printmaster QM 46 presses. "They pay attention to the details and little issues in a very timely way," Vaughn says of Heidelberg’s service.
Davis Direct can now continue to stay competitive on its numerous short-run publications and direct mail pieces, which are sent out through the in-house mailing service. Though the company is always growing, it is now able to focus even more on service. "We want to make sure that we have the best customer service around, while also making sure to serve our own employees and community," Vaughn said.
Founded in 1927 and celebrating 80 years in the business, Davis Direct has 45 employees that serve regional corporations and associations.
