EFI Installs First Jetrion 4000 Color Digital Press at True Label, Inc.

Press release from the issuing company

Foster City, Calif. – Aug. 21, 2007 – EFI, the world leader in color digital print servers, superwide format and industrial inkjet printers and inks, and print management solutions, today announced it has sold its first Jetrion 4000 UV Inkjet System to True Label, Inc., a label innovator and current Jetrion 3025 customer. True Label signed the contract for the machine last month and recently installed the press in its Toledo, Ohio facility. The Jetrion 4000 was unveiled at LabelExpo 2006 in Chicago and will be in full production by this September’s LabelExpo Europe.
True Label purchased the new press to economically in-source full color, short run jobs, eliminating the need to outsource to expensive toner-based suppliers. The 12-year-old company specializes in pharmaceutical and chemical labeling, and has a history of investing in new technologies to lower costs and increase quality and profits.
"The Jetrion 4000's combination of image quality, speed and low production costs will make it possible for us to produce millions of short run labels at great margins," said Bob Napierala, president of True Label. "Historically we have turned down short run opportunities because they did not fit our capabilities. Now with Jetrion’s technology, not only will we have the capability to run short runs but we will also have a competitive advantage in the marketplace over HP technology.”
The Jetrion 4000 Series of UV inkjet printers offers narrow Web converters an affordable, full-color alternative to toner-based digital printers. Web converters can harness the advantages of lower running costs, superior production capabilities of Jetrion UV inks, enhanced image quality with grayscale printheads and flexibility of inkjet technology for applications such as labels, tags, forms and tickets. Features include: full CMYK set of UV inks, with white and expanded gamut inks available soon; speeds over 100 fpm; and 4” (101 mm) and 8” (203 mm) standard print widths with custom widths available. The Jetrion 4000 UV Inkjet System is also integrated with the Fiery XF RIP, making it the most versatile and scalable platform in the industry. Powered by Best Color technology, this combination provides top-notch ICC color management, accepts many different input file types and can generate CMYK and expanded gamut six color output, and has an easy to use interface that shortens the learning curve and increases productivity.
“Jetrion and True Label have enjoyed a strong relationship since the successful installation of the Jetrion 3025 last year, so we’re excited they are the first to purchase and run our new Jetrion 4000 press,” said Dr. Kenneth Stack, general manager, Jetrion Industrial Inkjet Systems, EFI. “We’re confident that the speed and quality of the machine will meet their expectations and make an impressive difference to their bottom line.”
