Press release from the issuing company

August 21, 2007 -- Hauppauge, New York – During Graph Expo 2007, Muller Martini will again show why the entire industry continuously looks to the company for new and innovative solutions designed to boost print production efficiency and increase profits.
Visitors to booth #3863 can view live demonstrations of several of the company’s state-of-the-art machines, including a highly flexible press delivery configuration consisting of a Topveyor overhead conveyor, the new Preciso rotary trimmer, and the Vivo horizontal log bundler.  Also demonstrated will be the Muller Martini BravoPlus saddle stitcher, which will be shown together with the Palamides 502 banding machine.  In addition, Muller Martini will showcase the capabilities of its new Alprinta-V continuously size-variable web offset press specially tailored for the packaging and label market.
“Muller Martini collaborates constantly with our customers, getting inside their businesses, learning everything there is to know about their markets and their growth plans...then we provide and help implement technologically-advanced solutions specific to each customer, ensuring that our equipment and workflow strategies can optimize productivity and profit potential for that customer,” said Werner Naegeli, President and CEO of Muller Martini Corp. “I invite Graph Expo attendees to stop by our booth and see for themselves how our machines and our expertise can take their businesses to new levels of success.”
Muller Martini press delivery systems are engineered to process printed products between press and finishing in the fastest, most reliable and least labor-intensive way possible – reducing waste, saving paper, boosting throughput speed and lowering the cost of manpower. At Graph Expo, Muller Martini will demonstrate a press delivery configuration that can be adapted easily to almost any production environment. Featured in the demonstrations will be the Topveyor conveyor, which saves valuable floor space by running overhead while providing the ability to process signatures or finished products in a shingle stream from press to finishing without the need for single-copy timing.  Also part of the Muller press delivery configuration on display at Graph Expo will be the company’s new Preciso rotary trimmer, which is one of the world’s most precise and dependable trimming technologies, providing the ability to finish products with optimal trim quality at full press speed.  And, the demonstrations at Graph Expo will also underscore why Muller Martini bundlers are the finest in the industry for maintaining perfect logs. The company’s Vivo horizontal log bundler, which has the smallest floor space requirement in its class, will be up and running...tightly controlling the continuous conditioning of signatures.
The Muller Martini BravoPlus stitcher provides a level of automation that is unmatched in the mid-performance class, making set-ups incredibly fast and operational productivity very high. At Graph Expo, the BravoPlus will be running with a Palamides 502 banding machine, demonstrating not only the ability of the 13,000 c/hr. BravoPlus to rapidly produce superior quality saddle stitched products, but also the combined ability with the Palamides machine to process plain or imprinted paper banding material.  Another important aspect of the BravoPlus stitcher that Graph Expo attendees will want to see is the machine’s newly enhanced feeder technology.  Feeders on the BravoPlus have been re-designed to enable highly efficient advance and retard timing of each individual feeder to the chain in general.
Muller Martini’s Alprinta-V continuously size-variable web offset press makes size changeovers amazingly quick and also less costly, and as a result, the press is particularly well suited for labeling and packaging jobs. The Alprinta-V series utilizes a continuously size variable insert system.  The insert remains in the press during a size change, since only the actual size parts – the blanket cylinder and the plate cylinder – are exchanged.  The change is completed without tools and breaking the web is not necessary.  The size parts are light and easy to handle, yet extremely stable.  In less than five minutes, the press can be changed over to a new size.  Alprinta-V achieves speeds up to 1,200 ft/min. while also delivering high quality printing results that rival sheetfed.  Job preparation is very quick and highly efficient thanks to Muller Martini’s renowned job set-up technology.  During Graph Expo, Muller Martini will display an Alprinta-V print module along with several print samples produced by the Alprinta-V on various substrates popular in the packaging market.
Graph Expo takes place September 9-12, 2007 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
Show attendees can view Muller Martini’s live demonstrations at the company’s exhibit (#3863).  Furthermore, Muller Martini sales and technical experts will be available throughout the show, ready to discuss how the latest press delivery, print finishing, size-variable printing and many other technologies can enhance efficiency and raise profits specific to each operation.
