Adpro Litho buys Speedmaster SM 52 6-color perfector plus coater

KENNESAW, Ga. – August 29, 2007 –"Out with the old, in with the new!" could have been the motto of Gary and Chris Smith when they decided to replace their shop"s two 1983-era Heidelberg GTO 52 presses.  But, "some things never change" is probably what the father and son co-owners of Adpro Litho Inc. thought when they chose another Heidelberg, the Speedmaster SM 52 6-color perfector plus coater, to replace the GTOs in the shop"s all-Heidelberg lineup.
Vice President Chris Smith says he initially was attracted to the short makeready times and high level of efficiency offered by the automated SM 52. He also appreciates the versatility of the three-month-old press and the accompanying boost in productivity.
"All the work we used to do on two GTOs is handled by the SM 52," Smith said.  "We"ve even been able to pull some of the higher quality work from the [classic Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 and Speedmaster 72 presses] and give it to the new press."
In fact, the SM 52 is making such a good impression that Adpro Litho plans to increase its investment in Heidelberg presses by upgrading to a top-of-the-line Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 in the near future.  Adpro Litho, located in scenic Mukilteo, WA, is a trade print shop with 27 employees and clients all over the state of Washington.
