Hans Kellogg of Ball State University Receives the 2007 PGSF Educator of the Year Award

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, PA., August 28, 2007 — Hans Kellogg, Assistant Professor, Graphic Arts Management Program, Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana), has been named the fifth recipient of the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) Educator of the Year Award.  The award recognizes excellence in educational instruction for graphic communications and printing.  The award will be presented at the R & E Council of NAPL Critical Trends Breakfast Monday, September 10, 2007 during GRAPH EXPO "07.
"Students receiving PGSF scholarships nominate the award candidates," says Ted Ringman, Vice President of Development at PGSF. "The students nominate educators that have had a significant impact on their education and college experience.  Professor Kellogg brings a highly energetic and enthusiastic approach to all of his classes in the Graphic Arts Management Program. With his industry background he is able to bring the real world of graphic communications into the classroom. The students also work with live projects and produce them at industry locations."
"The need for financial support of dedicated students entering the graphic communications industry cannot be over emphasized," according to Professor Kellogg.
"Throughout the field of graphic communications, the need for highly trained and educated individuals is increasing. However, so are the costs of that education. I challenge the leaders of this industry to continue their support of the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) as it fulfills its calling, the financial support of students entering the many strong graphic communication programs throughout the country.  These students are truly the graphic communications leaders of tomorrow."
Currently over 230 students attending 84 schools receive financial assistance through PGSF.  However, many more of the scholarship applicants are turned down due to lack of funds.  For information regarding tax-deductible contributions, establishing a scholarship through PGSF or scholarship applications contact Bernie Eckert, PGSF Program Administrator, 200 Deer Run Road, Sewickley, PA 15143-2600, 412-259-1740, Fax 412-741-2311, [email protected].
