Printware Debuts PlateStream Drum CtP Device at Graph Expo

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA – August 28, 2007 – Printware, LLC, a leading innovator of high quality, high performance CtP solutions, today announced the debut of its PlateStream Drum polyester CtP system at Graph Expo in Chicago, September 9-12. Available for demonstration in the Printware booth (5425), the PlateStream Drum is the newest addition to the highly successful PlateStream family of CtP solutions, all of which offer significant benefits to short run printers. The new PlateStream Drum has many important features and benefits including:

The new PlateStream Drum is capable of producing up to 29 full-format plates per hour and features dynamic adjustment of the laser spot size. The result is optimum color reproduction on press with excellent throughput for high production shops. The dual media input system allows two different media sizes online, which saves time and money for printers with more than one press size. Plus, an integrated punching system supports both 220 mm and 425 mm punch configurations to ensure perfect fit on press and fast make ready.
Included with the PlateStream Drum system is a complete Harlequin-based workflow package featuring the latest Xitron RIP and PDF tools. This helps ensure predictable printing from all common page layout files and input sources. Color management, trapping, imposition, PDF creation and preflighting are all available in one easy-to-use workflow solution, creating a complete production package.
