Oliver Printing wins 42 Print Excellence Awards In Regional Competition

Press release from the issuing company

CLEVELAND (May 23, 2007) – Oliver Printing, based in Twinsburg, Ohio, was awarded 42 Printing Excellence Awards from the Printing Industries Association, Inc. serving northern Kentucky and Ohio (PIANKO)—one of the leading award winners this year. Of those 42 awards, Oliver Printing received 18 Gold Awards, 13 Silver and six Bronze for work ranging from a brand book for a national beauty products company to a point-of-sale display for a leading manufacturer and distributor of coatings and paint products. In the ‘Best of Category’ department, the regional printer pulled in five awards in Newsletters, Product Catalogs, Stationary, Self Mailers and Self Advertising. “’Best of’ honors are true testament to our ongoing commitment to quality and craftsmanship,” says President George Oliver. Each year, PIANKO holds its annual Printing Excellence Awards Competition to reward Ohio and northern Kentucky-based printers that demonstrate excellence in 32 categories. This year, PIANKO received more than 550 printed pieces—a record number of submissions according to PIANKO President Jim Cunningham. This only adds to the internal excitement at Cleveland’s Oliver Printing says Oliver, “We’re up against some of the bigger shops in the region in this competition,” says Oliver. “Receiving 42 awards, five of them ‘Best ofs’ and 18 Gold, is proof that we’re in good company and getting noticed.” “As the number of companies entering the contest increases, the competition becomes even greater,” says Cunningham. “To be recognized means that the quality of the work is at the level of ‘outstanding’.” Oliver attributes the continued success of his family’s printing company – which can be traced back to 1924 – to a great team and great clients, who, he says, “continually provide us with innovative projects to take to print.” Several pieces that made the grade with PIANKO this year were designed by some of Northeast Ohio’s top-notch marketing communications firms and design consultancies, as well as leading national beauty and consumer products manufacturers and non-profit organizations. Oliver Printing employs more than 30 at its state-of-the-art facility in Northeast Ohio – nearly 40,000 square feet, southeast of downtown Cleveland.
