FujiFIlm Adds New Security Seals to Tape Cartridges

Press release from the issuing company

ELMSFORD, NY, The Computer Products Division of Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. today announced that it is now shipping all of its Fujifilm-branded DLTtape IV data cartridges with a new Security Seal, a no-cost, add-on feature to the product's protective case designed to guarantee product integrity and tamper resistancy. Fujifilm, which has been pioneering data storage tec hnology and packaging developments for years, is the first media manufacturer to develop this packaging innovation as part of its ongoing commitment to better serve the needs of the dealer and end-user communities. Fujifilm developed the Security Seal out of concern and recognition that there is a potential for tapes to be reused and resold without end-user knowledge. Easy to open and environmentally safe, the Security Seal also limits the waste and potential for data center contamination associated with other types of packaging. "As the first manufacturer to offer clear product cases for DLTtape, enabling easy bar-code scanning, Fujifilm continues its history of product packaging innovation with the Security Seal program," said Rob Corini, Senior Product Manager, Computer Products Division, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. "We understand the value and sensitivity of the mission-critical data stored on our products, and we created the Security Seal to guarantee Fujifilm quality for our resellers and to provide our end-users with a simple, effective basis to ensure their DLTtape media is new and unused."
