Press release from the issuing company

Foster City, Calif. – May 22, 2007 – As a result of customer requests, EFI today announced it has expanded the scope of educational sessions at the upcoming Connect users’ conference. The print industry’s largest user event, EFI Connect is scheduled for June 10-13th at the Wynn Las Vegas. Over the four day event, participants will have the opportunity to attend more than 160 educational sessions, test drive the latest EFI products, discuss industry trends, and network with peers. The conference sessions cover business management and digital workflow topics ranging from JDF to Variable Data Printing and superwide format applications, as well as specific tracks focused on Hagen, Logic, PSI, PrintSmith and Prograph. Attendees can also learn about Fiery, proofing, web-to-print and other solutions. This year there are more superwide and inkjet sessions planned, including a hands-on session at a VUTEk printer that will examine the entire workflow process from prepress to finishing, as well as a superwide format panel discussion with VUTEk customers. EFI has added a session to introduce attendees to its line-up of Jetrion industrial inkjet systems for labels and packaging, which will discuss how advanced inkjet technology can be harnessed to add capabilities and profitability to print service providers. The Connect lab will have a Jetrion 4000 and Jetrion 3025 printer on display for the first time so attendees can see the equipment in action. EFI is also joining forces with XMPie to hold a complete day of hands-on training on the powerful XMPie personalization technology. “XMPie VDP and Personalization” day will take place on Sun., June 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as part of Connect's exclusive pre-conference program. Taught by both XMPie and EFI experts, the program will provide each attendee with an opportunity for hands-on creation of dynamic documents using XMPie’s workstation products, as well as deployment of projects to XMPie PersonalEffect server solutions. In addition, the program will provide introductory instruction on using XMPie dynamic documents with EFI’s web-to-print and Fiery technologies. Besides educational sessions, Connect attendees will hear keynotes from EFI executives, ex-Apple executive Guy Kawasaki and a special session with Symantec CEO John W. Thompson. There is also time to explore the latest EFI products in the lab area and see the newest technologies from leading vendors in the exhibit hall.
