RICHMOND, Va.-- MeadWestvaco Corporation today announced Mr. Bruce V. Thomas has joined the company as senior vice president, Global Market Strategy and Emerging Markets. In this role, Mr. Thomas will drive the company's efforts to expand its global footprint and capabilities in emerging markets, with a focus on leading marketing and business development activities with current and new customers in China, India and Eastern Europe. He will apply his multi-national marketing experience and expertise to direct current and future strategies for MeadWestvaco, supporting the company in achieving new levels of efficiency and success in emerging markets. As former president and CEO of global content management and printing company Cadmus Communications Corporation, Mr. Thomas grew Cadmus through global expansion efforts and drove the company's establishment of an integrated manufacturing platform with locations in India, Singapore, China and Honduras. Additionally, in his leadership role, he led strategic acquisitions and alliances, increased market share, reduced costs and improved overall operation performance. During his 15 year tenure at Cadmus, Mr. Thomas also held other key leadership positions including chief operating officer, chief financial officer and vice president, law and business development. Prior to Cadmus, he was a merger and acquisitions partner with Troutman Sanders, LLP.
