Xerox Appoints Former Toppan America Executive To Lead Commercial Print Marketing Efforts

Gavin Jordan-Smith, a former director and corporate officer at Toppan Printing Company America, Inc. has been named vice president of marketing, Commercial Print and Pre-Press Segments, Worldwide Graphic Communications Industry Business, Xerox Corporation, effective March 1, 2007. He is a 15-year veteran of the graphic communications industry in the U.S. and U.K. Toppan Printing Company America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Toppan Printing Co. Ltd., is the largest commercial printing company in the world. At Toppan America, based in Somerset, N.J., Jordan-Smith oversaw several vital business functions including marketing, operations, strategic and business development, information technology and digital communications. He helped to transition the 100-year-old traditional offset printing company into a leading provider of digital communications services. This evolution drove the creation of several key applications, including full-color variable-information direct-mail pieces, books-on-demand and sales and marketing collaterals – all printed on Xerox iGen3® 110 Digital Production Presses. At Xerox, Jordan-Smith will work on accelerating Xerox’s strategy to increase the use of digital print technology in the commercial print and pre-press markets. He will also expand Xerox’s involvement in worldwide industry association activities and the global Xerox Premier Partners Program. Jordan-Smith has also worked for Global Document Solutions Corporation, Xerographic Reproduction Center, Wellgate Communications Limited and Kelvin Graphics Limited. He replaces Rick Schadle, who has accepted a position with XMPie as vice president, Worldwide Sales. Xerox acquired XMPie in October 2006.
