Software and Technology Takes a Major Role at Graphics of the Americas-Xplor 2007

Miami Beach, Florida– February 6, 2007– Graphics of the Americas-Xplor, the second largest U.S.-based annual international graphic communications exhibit and conference, today announced that software and technology will take a major role that the upcoming event, March 2-4 (exhibit) and February 28-March 4 (conference), 2007 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. For the first time, record numbers of XML-PDF, web-to-print, graphic design, pre-press, estimating, workflow and page composition vendors will display their latest software and technology tools that have become increasingly more important to printers, pre-press and creative professionals. For 2007, exhibit attendees can see first hand, solutions from many of the leading developers of graphic design, illustration and photo retouching software including Quark, Adobe, Corel, Human Eyes, Digital Juice and Dynagram Software. As the exposition attracts approximately 5,000 creative professionals and print specificers, many attendees consider Graphics of the Americas to be one of the only events to house over 100 exhibiting companies targeting this audience. In addition, the Design City Pavilion, an exhibition area dedicated to creative professionals, will feature a newly announced hands-on training lab by Quark, ongoing product demonstrations at the Adobe theater, as well as exhibitors demonstrating color management, variable data printing and online job submission solutions. “Software and technology are playing larger and larger rolls as design, printing and fulfillment become more automated and less labor intensive,” said Chris Price, vice president and general manager of Graphics of the Americas. “This year, the event will offer attendance an impressive balance of digital and traditional equipment, the latest software and technology for the industry.” For the first time, Graphics of the Americas will also feature a web-to-print exhibition pavilion, information area and conference symposium exploring of the industry’s most talked about technologies and market opportunities. The pavilion is dedicated to web-to-print solutions including storefront, brand management, portal and online procurement models. In addition, a web-to-print information area, adjacent to the exhibition area, will be part of the overall pavilion. Information provided by the PIA/GATF will allow attendees to explore different web-to-print solutions and business models, helping printers and end-users understand the technology as it applies to their businesses. Web-to-print exhibitors at Graphics of the Americas 2007 include Adobe, Book Production Systems, EFI, GM, Kodak, PageFlex, Perfect Proof, Printers Presence, Printsoft, Print-Quotes Software, RSA, Screen, Websites for Printers and Xerox. For example, Print-Quotes Software Inc., booth #537 and regular exhibitor at Graphics of the Americas, will be demonstrating a new print management solution featuring client on-line web-to-print template editing tools with instantaneous on-line estimating for printers, brokers and corporate print buyers who need to manage print projects from estimate through delivery. Print-Quotes Software is an industry leader in web-based solutions that enable their customers to manage procurement, production and fulfillment for a variety of print media. Graphics of the Americas will also feature an XML-PDF pavilion, as well as technology and software solutions from leading color calibration, color management, estimating, document composition, job planning, imposition, trapping, pre-press RIP, variable data and workflow providers.
