June 7, 2007 -- The Albuquerque Journal (NM) and the Waterbury Republican-American (CT) recently purchased the Glunz & Jensen K&F, Inc. ProVision Alliance punch benders.  Complimenting the Albuquerque Journal’s purchase was the addition of a stand-alone DPPC with pneumatic powered punch heads and Glunz & Jensen’s three-point electrical edge contact system.  The Eureka Times Standard (CA) purchased the rugged PB-38 Power Bender and DPPC.

The Great Falls Tribune (MT) recently ordered retrofits for their Glunz & Jensen K&F Power Bender (PB-30) and DPPC.  The Helena Independent Record (MT) also ordered a retrofit for their DPPC and purchased the SAB-38 (Semi-Automatic Plate Bender) and DPPC along with the Glunz & Jensen Narrow Gap/No-tool lock up assemblies to support registration on their Goss presses.  Northeast Industries, Inc. purchased over 150 No-Tool lock ups in support of a recent web reduction from 50 to 48 inches at the Youngstown (OH) Vindicator.  A retrofit was completed at Ventura County Star (CA) on their Edge Registered Plate Punch (DPPC) along with the installation of the Glunz and Jensen Narrow Gap/No-Tool lock-ups for their TKS presses in support of a web reduction from 48 to 46 inches.  Similar press registration retrofits were completed for the Chicago Tribune (IL) and Masthead International.  The Orlando Sentinel (FL) is on schedule for retrofit of their Provision Alliance high-speed bender to be completed during June.  Florida Publishing will receive retrofits for its two VIPBs.  This upgrade supplies oiler systems to the punches, providing a cleaner cut and extends the life of the punches and dies.  Additionally, a new blank plate feeder and UTM were added.  The Idaho Statesman and Lansing (MI) State Journal are both on track to receive upgrades to their ProVision benders and manual plate punch, respectively.

Glunz & Jensen AP-1000s, the high-capacity, high speed plate punch, were recently installed at Atlanta Journal and Constitution (GA) and Bradenton Herald (FL) respectively.  The AP-1000 can punch and stack 400 plates per hour and can be ordered for singlewide plates only, or to punch single and doublewide plates in one unit.
