OfficeMax ImPress Copy Equipment Goes High-Tech

Press release from the issuing company

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Jan. 29 -- OfficeMax, a leading provider of office products and services, has announced that it is installing new, state-of-the-art multifunction systems from Xerox Corporation in all of its OfficeMax ImPress locations throughout the country. The agreement with Xerox calls for nearly 2,300 new self-serve machines to be installed by February 2007 -- this extensive equipment upgrade will allow OfficeMax customers to produce their work faster and with greater quality. OfficeMax will be replacing its entire fleet of self-serve copiers with the Xerox WorkCentre(R) Pro 245, a 45-page-per-minute, monochrome multifunction system with output options that include a 2,000 sheet finisher, hole punch and convenience stapling. "Replacing our black-and-white equipment gives our customers access to the newest and best technology in the industry," states Harold Mulet, executive vice president -- retail, for OfficeMax. "We chose Xerox as our primary provider for printing equipment because of its well-earned reputation for quality, speed and reliability." The new Xerox equipment has embedded technology that will allow OfficeMax to continue service upgrades in the future, including scan to email, fax and mailbox printing options. "The key desire of every customer is to have their work represent them at their best," explains Brian Norris, OfficeMax ImPress senior vice president. "We anticipate that by reinvigorating our capabilities, we will attract even more new business customers because the new OfficeMax ImPress delivers high quality results at an exceptional value. With the wide range of services offered by this feature-rich equipment, we can help turn our customer's business image into their biggest asset." Installation of the new Xerox equipment is part of the launch of OfficeMax ImPress -- the company's new identity for its print and document services operations that serve both businesses and consumers through direct sales, online service and inside most OfficeMax retail stores nationwide. OfficeMax ImPress offers solutions for the full range of OfficeMax customers -- from the largest of businesses to home-office and retail consumers. For large business customers, OfficeMax ImPress streamlines the document management process and improves tracking and control for greater cost savings. Mid-to-small businesses and consumers will find quality and value through the OfficeMax ImPress online submission and in-store printing, copying, binding and document production services.
