SALT LAKE CITY, June 7 -- ONYX Graphics today announced it has achieved RIP certification for the HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series. The HP Designjet Z6100 Certification Program is a new initiative from HP designed to provide the highest level of confidence for users, ensuring compatibility, functionality and interoperability when using an HP Certified third-party RIP product. In addition, ONYX Graphics has announced driver availability for the HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series for ONYX(R) workflow solutions software products.

HP defined the RIP certification criteria to align with user performance expectations and the capabilities of the HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series. Certification tests include color accuracy, throughput performance, support of the embedded spectrophotometer, and management of job status and job handling. Only RIPs that have achieved the defined levels of the certification will be allowed to carry the "Certified for HP Designjet Z6100" designation.

ONYX Drivers for HP Designjet Z6100 Printer Series

ONYX Graphics workflow solutions software products include key features such as PANTONE(R) Spot Color Matching, Contour Cutting Workflow and Automatic Job Nesting, which enhance the performance capabilities of these printers. The HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series is available in 42- and 60-inch models and offers an attractive combination of speed, image quality and color consistency for print service providers and technical professionals. ONYX Graphics has teamed with HP to create an easy, scalable and flexible workflow solution. The ONYX drivers include support for the following key features of the HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series:

-- Printer Resolution:  2400, 1200, and 600 optimized dpi
-- Ink Configuration:  CMYK, CMYKcm and CMYKcmk, including matte black, photo black, hi-pass and low-pass.
-- HP Embedded Spectrophotometer:  for calibration and re-calibration of media.
-- Media Options:  Media Type, Media Source, Enable Cutter and Enable Accounting functions.
-- Media Profiles:  seven media profiles available upon launch, for HP ink and a range of media.  Other ONYX profiles will be available on the  ONYX website.

The HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series drivers will be included in all standard 7.0.6 versions of ONYX ProductionHouse(TM), ONYX PosterShop(R), and ONYX RIPCenter(TM) software. The drivers will be available at no charge to existing license holders of version 7.0.6 of these software products and will be available for download from the ONYX Graphics website.
