Quark Wraps up 2006 with Numerous Awards and Accolades

Press release from the issuing company

DENVER--Jan. 10, 2007-- The year 2006 was a big one for Quark Inc. The company is at the top of its game with innovative and award-winning product releases. Trade show floors were buzzing about QuarkXPress 7, Quark Print Collection, QuarkXPress Server 7, and Quark Interactive Designer. "This is an exciting time to be part of the Quark team," said Ray Schiavone, president and CEO. "Quark paved the way with great product releases and award-winning software -- you can feel the change and excitement at Quark." QuarkXPress 7, the latest version of the company's flagship desktop publishing software, was awarded "Best of Show" by the Macwelt editors at the MacExpo trade show and conference in Cologne, Germany in June. The award was one of six that Macwelt handed out to acknowledge new products that displayed innovation and generated excitement at the event. At the MacWorld UK expo in August, Quark cleaned up again with two awards for QuarkXPress 7: The "Editor's Choice" award and the "Best Creative Software" award. Winners came from an extensive and varied list that Macworld UK editors compiled during a year of fast-paced change in the Macintosh computer industry. The Macworld UK editors wrote: "In terms of practical design production, QuarkXPress 7 is second to none." QuarkXPress 7 wasn't the only innovative software release from Quark in 2006. Quark also debuted Quark Interactive Designer, which made a splash at MacExpo in October by winning the coveted "Best of Show" award. Quark Interactive Designer is an innovative new product that enables creative professionals to leverage their skills to create rich, interactive content using QuarkXPress 7. The year wrapped up with the German Printing Industry Innovation Award. Various experts in the field of publishing decided which software product they considered the most innovative solution or development for the production of printed products, and Quark came out on top. In addition to granting awards, reviewers were raving about Quark in 2006. "First, let me say I'm very impressed with QuarkXPress 7's new features," said David Creamer of Layers Magazine. Australian Printer also praised QuarkXPress: "With more than 160 new features and enhancements, QuarkXPress 7 is the must-have new release software for graphic professionals." Quark finished 2006 with a number of awards under its belt -- and 2007 looks to be just as promising.
