Quebecor World Consolidates Quebec Based Magazine and Catalog Printing to Improve Efficiency and Customer Service

Tuesday, January 09, 2007

Press release from the issuing company

MONTREAL, CANADA -- Jan. 8, 2007 - Quebecor World Inc. announced today it is consolidating its Quebec based magazine and catalog printing into fewer and more efficient facilities to improve productivity and customer service. This decision involves the closure of the Company's L'Eclaireur facility in Beauceville, Quebec. The closure is effective immediately and will result in the loss of approximately 155 employee positions. Quebecor World continues to employ approximately 2,000 employees at seven facilities in Quebec, printing magazines, catalogs, retail inserts and directories. Customer volume from the L'Eclaireur will be transferred to other strategically located plants in Quebecor World's magazine platform. These efforts are being coordinated with our customers through their normal sales representation.
