Openfirst Welcomes Don Terkel as Vice President of Manufacturing

Press release from the issuing company

Dec. 20 -- Openfirst, a Quad/Graphics Company, has named Don Terkel as its new Vice President of Manufacturing. In this role, Mr. Terkel will be responsible for all of the company's manufacturing operations, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mr. Terkel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position and has the added advantage of having worked for many years for printer Quad/Graphics, which acquired Openfirst in July 2006 to enhance its presence and capabilities in the growing direct mail industry. "Don's experience in helping build Quad/Graphics into a world-class organization, combined with his manufacturing expertise and leadership abilities, make him the ideal choice for advancing our operations," said Robert Kraft, President & CEO of Openfirst. Most recently, Mr. Terkel served as Vice President of Transportation for FedEx SmartPost. There, he oversaw all national transportation as well as managed the company's relationship with the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Terkel became employed by FedEx in August 2004 following that company's acquisition of Parcel Direct, a business Quad/Graphics launched several years earlier to help direct mail merchants expedite lower-weight, less time-sensitive packages to consumers using the U.S. Postal Service as the in-home carrier. A co-founder of Parcel Direct, Mr. Terkel helped build it into a profitable business by capitalizing on the efficiencies of automated equipment and processes. While at Parcel Direct, Mr. Terkel served in a variety of capacities including Vice President of Operations. Mr. Terkel's history with Quad/Graphics dates back to 1985, when he joined the printing company's Paper Warehousing department. He advanced to Corporate Paper Purchasing Manager in 1995, and then helped launch Parcel Direct in 1998. "We are undeterred in our quest to be the preeminent provider of business communication services in the country, and Don's background and energy will be very useful in meeting that objective," Mr. Kraft said.
