Boise Paper announces fluorochemical-free Boise EcoOGR flexible packaging papers.

Press release from the issuing company

Dec. 4 -- Boise Paper, a division of Boise Cascade, L.L.C., announced today the introduction of fluorochemical-free Boise EcoOGR flexible packaging papers. Boise is the only paper company focused on manufacturing oil and grease resistant papers entirely without fluorochemicals while meeting the Food and Drug Administration's standards for food packaging. "Consumers are increasingly concerned about the presence of fluorochemicals in their food packaging," said Miles Hewitt, senior vice president, Boise Paper. "This is a big issue for the food service industry and we are solving the problem by delivering EcoOGR, a product that is competitively priced and functionally equivalent -- if not better -- than the current products." Boise EcoOGR prints, converts and provides the same functionality as traditionally treated paper. Unlike conventionally treated papers, EcoOGR is made with naturally occurring, renewable resources. "At Boise we pride ourselves on going beyond what's expected," said Boise Executive Vice President Alexander Toeldte. "Even as our food service customers were asking us for a fluorochemical-free alternative, we recognized the growing importance of developing new products that have a lower impact on our environment." With superior grease resistance, Boise EcoOGR is perfect for a variety of uses including sandwich, hamburger and taco wraps; French fry and hash brown bags; take out bags for fried chicken; and pizza box liners.
