QuadTech Press Ancillaries Installed at Salt Lake Tribune

Press release from the issuing company

The Salt Lake Tribune, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, has invested in the QuadTech Register Guidance System with MultiCam to help prevent waste. The equipment was installed on the company's new TKS Color TOP/5000 in November 2006. The Register Guidance System helps prevent waste by using the industry-leading technology of the MultiCam camera which identifies register marks as small as 0.36 mm (0.014 in) at speeds of up to 17.8 m/sec (3500 ft/min). The Register Guidance System works exceptionally well during web upsets to keep the number of waste copies down to an absolute minimum. John Littlefair, Pressroom Manager, Salt Lake Tribune, comments, "Due to the rising cost of paper, and running a press in general, saving (on) waste is one of our top priorities as it has a direct impact on our bottom-line profits. We are looking forward to our new QuadTech equipment helping us to achieve our targets." The QuadTech Register Guidance System combines unrivalled register control with the adaptability and flexibility to suit any kind of newspaper press. With so many newspaper printers now needing to take on contract jobs to boost profits and remain competitive, maintaining quality of output is vital in terms of attracting new business.
